Koby Arthur

Date of birth

Koby Arthur was born on 31st January 1996 in Kumasi, Ghana and after upping sticks and moving to England, he signed up for the youth team at non-league Woodford United.

It was his performances there which saw the bigger clubs trying to get his signature and it was not long before Birmingham City made their move to sign the youngster in 2012.

Koby made his way through the ranks at St Andrews and made it to their reserve team in February 2013.

At this point, Arthur was knocking on the door of the first team, impressing Lee Clark (City’s manager at the time).

He was finally rewarded with his first team debut on 1st April 2013, when he came on in the 78th minute against Wolves.

Short loan periods at Lincoln City and Cheltenham Town followed, before Arthur returned to St Andrews to fight for his first team position.

He then made his full First Team debut on 30th September away at Millwall.

He was sent on-loan to Cheltenham Town, before he was released at the end of the 2016/17 season.

Upon his release, Macclesfield made their move to sign the winger and was part of the team that won the National League title in the 2017/18 season, scoring two goals in all competitions.

In June 2018, Arthur signed a new deal with the Silkmen ahead of the Sky Bet League Two campaign.
