The tenacious midfielder progressed through the youth ranks at Leicester City and during this time, enjoyed a three month loan period at Torquay United where he made his EFL debut back in 2013.

Jak signed a one year professional contract with The Foxes in the summer of 2014 and went on to complete a brief loan spell at Port Vale, before signing a permanent deal with League One side Barnsley in January 2016.

After being an unused substitute for The Tykes in their victorious Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final against Millwall the following May, Jak was released from Oakwell and subsequently offered a two year contract at Northampton Town.

Re-united with former manager Rob Page, Jake went on to make twenty-six appearances for The Cobblers - scoring his first senior goal during a one-all draw at Scunthorpe United back in October 2016.

The Liverpudlian then made the move to Chesterfield, where he made thirty-four appearances during the 2017/18 season - scoring five times.

In the summer of 2018, Jak secured a one year deal at Swindon Town and accumulated twenty-seven appearances for The Robins before being released by the Wiltshire outfit last month.

Jak's all-round play is characterised by a superb range of passing and a will to win which is much sought-after at every level of the game.

Jak arrived at the Moss Rose in the summer of 2019 on a one-year deal.
