Danny Whitehead rejoined the club on a loan deal from fellow Sky Bet League Two side Salford City in January 2020.
Danny began his footballing career at near-neighbours Stockport County where he would progress through the youth ranks to sign his first professional contract.
He quickly cemented himself into the County starting eleven and after a string of match-winning performances, Danny secured a dream move to West Ham United in July 2013.
First team appearances proved to be hard to come by at The Olympic Stadium however and after a short spell at Accrington Stanley, Danny first arrived at the Moss Rose in the summer of 2015.
The midfielder impressed straight away - so much so that Wigan Athletic were to land his much sought-after signature in January 2016.
The Latics instantly loaned Danny back to Macc and the likeable midfielder then went on to make another temporary move, this time to Cheltenham Town.
Danny returned to the Moss Rose in January 2017, yet his loan spell was blighted by injury and as such, he struggled to make a true impression on John Askey's side.
Despite this, John was to keep the faith with the midfielder as he signed him for a third time in September 2017 - this time on a permanent deal.
Danny moved to Salford City at the end of our triumphant 2017/18 campaign and helped The Ammies win their first promotion to the Sky Bet League Two last season.
