Macclesfield Town were delighted to announce the signing of 26-year-old striker Jacob Blyth in June 2019, who joined the club on a one year deal.

The 6ft 3" forward was born in Nuneaton and began his footballing career at local side, Bermuda FC.

A move to Nuneaton Griff of the Midland Football Combination followed, where he hit the back of the net an impressive nineteen times in just thirty-five appearances.

A spell at Bedworth United ensued, before Jacob signed for Southern League Premier Division side Leamington as his career continued on an upward trajectory.

Jacob's clinical prowess continued to shine through, as he scored seventeen goals in thirty-seven appearances for The Brakes and this alerted a number of clubs at the pinnacle of the footballing pyramid to his undoubted talent.

In May 2012 Jacob was to secure a dream move to the then Championship side, Leicester City. After making an impressive initial contribution to the Under 21 Development Squad, Jacob then headed out on loan to Burton Albion where he made his EFL debut against Aldershot Town in November 2012.

A further loan move to the then League One side Notts County was to follow and in addition to this, Jacob's career with The Foxes continued to go from strength to strength as he topped the Development Squad's goalscoring charts.

As a result, Jacob signed a contract extension at the King Power Stadium in May 2013.

Further loan moves followed - notably at Northampton Town, Burton Albion for a second time, Cambridge United and latterly at Blackpool where he scored three goals in eight games for The Seasiders.

Jacob's four-year association with Leicester City came to an end in the summer of 2016 and he subsequently headed north of the border to join Scottish Premiership side Motherwell on a two year deal.

In the summer of 2018, Jacob returned to England as he became Ian Evatt's first signing as manager of National League side Barrow.

After suffering a dislocated shoulder in pre-season, Jacob went on to score three times in twenty-four appearances for The Bluebirds - two of which came during a 3 - 2 victory over Salford City in December 2018.

Jacob is clearly a talented and imposing striker and we look forward to seeing everything he has to offer.
