Loan moves to Carlisle United, Wrexham and Peterborough United ensued, before he joined Barnet in February 2016.

Pearson would make fifteen appearances for The Bees, before suffering a knee injury which kept him out of the 2016/17 season.

In August 2017, James joined Coventry City on a non contract basis, before moving to Aggborough the following month to play for Kidderminster Harriers.

James made 23 appearances for the Conference North side and was highly regarded by an eclectic range of commentators during his spell with The Harriers.

Pearson is an athletic and versatile defender, who visibly gives his all on the pitch. He is a vociferous member of the team who plays with passion and tenacity.
