September was a successful month for the Silkmen, with a run of results that have led to the National League top spot.
One man key to that run of form was Scott Wilson. The striker contributed with four goals and has picked up the National League Player of the Month award.
He spoke to SilkmenTV after the presentation. “It is always very pleasing to get an award and I am happy because we had a good month as a team and I couldn’t have won it without the help of my team mates so I have to thank them. It is good to get recognised.”
“It was a tough August for me, being out of the team, and then having little spells of playing time but to manage to get a run of games in September and got into a rhythm quite quickly I had to continue that.”
“I have always had self-belief at this level, I didn’t play much last year, or at the start here but I knew I would get my chance and now I have just got to keep it going.”
“You can’t do anything without your teammates and we are in good form. Everyone is playing their part and doing their job. So hopefully we can keep that up for the rest of the season.”
Wilson and the Silkmen will look to continue their good run of form on Saturday as they head to Stourbridge for their first appearance in this year’s FA Cup.
