Whitaker On Taking Chances

Macclesfield midfielder Danny Whitaker says the team must do their best to take their chances to avoid frustrating defeats like the game against Woking last weekend.

The Silkmen had a host of opportunities both to take the lead and get back into the game once Woking had levelled through a freak goal, but they couldn’t capitalise and the visitors ran out eventual 3-1 winners.

He said: “We created a lot of chances but it wasn’t our day. We had more than enough chances to win two or three games, let alone just one, but unfortunately it was just one of those days for us.

“We need to get our heads down and work hard this week in training. We need to put the defeat behind us and work all week. There’s a lot of ups and downs in football but it’s about how you react to them. We’ll look to take the positives that we did create a lot of chances.

“We’ll go into the next game knowing everything we’ve got to do and we’ll do our best. Every game is tough in this league but we’ll go to Solihull full of confidence.”
