Watson On Bouncing Back

Macclesfield Town

Assistant manager Steve Watson believes that Macclesfield Town showed ‘what a good team they are’ by bouncing back to take all three points at Solihull on Saturday.

Watson was speaking shortly after witnessing the Silkmen overcome the defeat against Woking last weekend by beating their Midlands-based opponents 1-0. Their third win in the last four games.

Scott Wilson scored the only goal of the game in the 62nd minute, just a short while after goalkeeper Shwan Jalal had spectacularly denied Darren Carter from the penalty spot.

Whilst admitting to Silkmen TV that Macclesfield were not at their best, Watson went on to say that bouncing back with an away win was great news for everybody.

“We played a lot better than that against Woking and got nothing, so, obviously we’re happy,” said Watson.

“Good teams when they have a setback bounce back, despite anything else. We will play a lot better than that in the weeks to come, but, to come back from last week with an away win is great news for everybody.

“We’ve had to play players in different positions today – and we’ve also given players a chance that have been waiting for their chance. We’ve also still got a lot of players to come back.

“So, all in all, it’s all looking good and hopefully we can build on the three points.”
