Steve Watson says that the Silkmen will aim to find a run of form again after the defeat to Woking on Saturday.
The Silkmen assistant manager was left frustrated by the defeat on Saturday, but now wants to see the squad bounce-back.
He told mtfc.co.uk: " I had a bit of a sleepless night on Saturday wondering how we didn’t come out of the game with three points, but the answers are clear, we didn’t put the ball in the back of the net, with the half dozen - maybe even 10 chances that we had.”
Despite Saturday’s loss, throughout the game and particularly over the Bank Holiday Weekend, fans have witnessed some flowing, attacking football with often just the finish going astray.
“No disrespect to the three teams but if we had left the Dover game with three goals, Chester four or five, and even with Woking’s two goals, we could have had five.”
Without a midweek game, the squad will have a full week of training together as they look to improve on Saturday’s result.
“We are creating chances. But we always have to start a fresh after a defeat. We have to be a lot more clinical and we are working on that over the next couple of days. We will make sure that we do create the same amount of chances but it goes without saying we need to start putting them away.”
