In what is a massive game at the top of the National League table, Macclesfield Town travel to Prenton Park tonight to face Tranmere Rovers. Here, we list everything you need to know about the game.

Team News

Ryan Lloyd is unlikely to feature, so John Askey may name the same side that won at Aldershot on Saturday. That includes frontman Nathan Blissett, who has netted in his last two games for The Silkmen.

Our opponents have reported no new injury concerns from their game against Bromley at the weekend.

Last Time Out – Macclesfield 2-2 Tranmere 21/11/17

Tyrone Marsh grabbed all the headlines in the game between the sides earlier in the season, as he headed an injury-time equaliser to earn Macclesfield Town a share of the spoils.

Larnell Cole put Rovers ahead after 19 minutes before Scott Wilson equalised shortly before halftime as he followed up a well saved Danny Whitaker penalty.

Tranmere would go back in front through Andy Cook later in the game, but it was that man Marsh, courtesy of a diving header, that ensured both teams would leave the game with a point.

One To Watch – Ollie Norburn

A man who needs no introduction to Silkmen fans, Norburn joined Tranmere in the summer after opting against extending his stay with ourselves.

In what was perhaps his most memorable moment in a Macclesfield shirt, Norburn’s goal in the same fixture last season that ensured his side would visit Wembley.

Connecting well to a sweeping pass upfield, Norburn expertly took the ball past the Tranmere defence, before giving Davies no chance in the Tranmere goal.

Although his last game in a Silkmen would be that day at Wembley, he did feature in the corresponding fixture between the two sides in a Tranmere shirt earlier this season.
