Macclesfield Town hit the road tomorrrow as they travel down to Devon to take on Torquay. Here is all you need to know about the game.
Having made three signings in four days, Torquay will have a selection dilemma going into this fixture. Callum Evans, Rhys Murphy (both on three-month deals from Forest Green) and Jennison Myrie-Williams the men making the move to the ‘English Riviera’.
Macclesfield will look to welcome back Jared Hodgkiss, John Thompson and George Pilkington after their early season injury lay-offs. All three featured in a friendly with Oldham on Tuesday and could play a part tomorrow.
Last Time Out
The last meeting between these two sides ended in a 1-1 draw in February.
Kingsley James broke the deadlock that afternoon; converting Danny Whitaker’s 50th-minute corner to hand playoff-chasing SIlkmen the advantage. Torquay though, still troubled by the threat of relegation, equalised five minutes into the second period. It came from a corner of their own and it was Sean McGinty with the all-important touch.
Some late opportunities for both teams fell, but the final scoreline eventually saw the hosts move up to 17th. Macclesfield remained ninth.
