Three Things Missed

Shots top the league

Aldershot climbed to the top of the National League after a 1-0 win over Gateshead at the weekend. The Shots claimed the spoils after a late goal from Fabien Robert following a dominant performance.

James Rowe went close either side of half-time but he couldn’t break the deadlock, and the game needed a moment of fortune to see a goal which eventually came for Robert who capitalised on Hanford’s poor clearance to slot the ball home for all three points.

Barrow make double signing

Jordon Thompson and Paul Bignot have both joined Barrow as the Bluebirds actively try to relieve the pressure of injury problems.

18-year-old Thompson has moved on a one-month loan from Coventry City, and Bignot has agreed non-contract terms.

The Bluebirds are without Dave Nieskens and Thierry Audel – who are suffering with knee and arm injuries respectively – for a number of weeks, and will be hoping their new signings will help them push on from 18th place.

Gateshead sign midfielder

Birmingham City midfielder Luke Maxwell has made the move to National League club Gateshead on a three-month loan deal.

A regular for the under-23s at City, Maxwell started his career with Kidderminster and made his Football League debut last year.
