Steve Watson says Macclesfield Town may soon be in luck on the injury front as they prepare to face Dover on Friday night.
Watson was speaking to Silkmen TV ahead of a busy Bank Holiday period which will see the Silkmen face two games in four days.
The management team could, again, be without a number of first team players who have all fallen victim to injury in the opening weeks of the season.
But Watson is hopeful things could finally be looking up.
He said: “We haven’t got a big squad and we’ve been unlucky, really, with the injuries.
“Obviously, Jared in pre-season who is a really important player for us and he is yet to play in the League. Everyone knows what George Pilkington brings to us and he has been out, Elliot Durrell another in that category.
“We’ve also lost Shwan, but, with a bit of luck this week they’ll be coming back to push the lads that are fit.”
Despite the last two results, Macclesfield will head into the game on Friday with an unbeaten home record to maintain. Watson says the possibility of having the extra competition for places can push everyone on to do that.
“Having the extra lads back means that they can push the lads that are fit and that’s important at any stage of the season. Together we can only look forward now to the next two games now.
“We have to learn from the last two as a group and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
