After Macclesfield kicked off our pre-season campaign at the Moss Rose against Derby County, Assistant manager Steve Watson spoke to the media to discuss his feelings on the trialists on show, as well as the new signings in the Silkmen camp.
Speaking to the Silkmen’s YouTube channel about the signings of Tyrone Marsh and Elliott Durrell he said:
“I think they will both be good players, because of the players we had certainly in the second half, players were playing out of position which we couldn’t really do much about. We just wanted to get minutes under their belt.
“I think he (Durrell) spoke well in his interview, he stated that this is the type of team, and style of football that suit him, and we can take that as a feather in our cap because we do try to play good football and at times in both halves when we got in and around their box we’ve got players to do that – like young Koby (Arthur) who I had at Birmingham, he’s a real live wire, he’d be a great acquisition if we can hopefully sort something out.“
