Macclesfield Town U-21’s fell to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Southport on Sunday.
It wasn’t a good start for the young Silkmen as they fell behind on 17 minutes and despite a positive reaction from the side they went in at half-time 1-0 down.
A fast start for the hosts in the second half effectively sealed the victory. A header on 57 minutes made it 2-0 and seven minutes after that a scramble led to Southport adding a third.
Macclesfield reduced the deficit almost instantly through Liam Riley on 67 minutes, as he headed home from a corner to make it 3-1.
But Southport regained their three-goal cushion on 77 minutes through Andrade and the score stayed the same for the rest of the match.
