After winning the local stages of the Under 11s National League Tournament Prestbury Primary school (boys winners) and St Johns Catholic Primary school (girls winners) represented Macclesfield Town FC at the Regional stages of the National League U11 Community Cup. Hoping to progress to the National finals at Wembley stadium both teams fared well.

On Monday the girls got off to a flyer during the group stages W2 D2 L2 and were drawn against Chester in the semis. Unfortunately the Silkgirls lost to Chester, the eventual winners.

On Tuesday the Silkmen got off the best start possible beating their first two opponents Altrincham and Stalybridge 1-0 , they then faced Stockport and lost 3-1. The Silkmen had a final group stage match against Altrincham FC which they won 1-0 to progress to the semi-finals as group winners.

Like the girls tournament we were drawn against Chester in the semis. Unfortunately for the Silkmen Chester won 3-1 for the second day running to progress to the final, who lost to winners Tranmere Rovers FC.

It was a fantastic two days, thanks very much to The National League Trust and to Stockport County FC for organising the tournament
