Macclesfield Town are delighted to announce that stiker Scott Wilson has been named the National League Player of the Month for September.
The 24-year-old forward was in scintillating form in September, scoring four goals in five starts to help the Silkmen climb in to the play-off places.
Wilson began the month on the bench against Woking but started the following week at Solihull Moors scoring a fine individual winner.
The former Eastleigh man followed that up with a match-winning brace at home to AFC Fylde before completing his scoring for the month with a predatory strike to give Macclesfield a 1-0 win at Torquay.
Wilson also provided an assist inside the opening 20 seconds against Aldershot for Ryan Lloyd and his work ethic has been a key part of the run that has seen John Askey’s men climb to the top of the National League table in the last week.
Everybody at Macclesfield Town would like to congratulate Scott on his award and you’ll be able to see an exclusive interview with the striker on his honour later this week.
