Scott Burgess has said that he’s enjoying his time at Moss Rose and is learning more and more each day in training.
The midfielder, on loan from League One side Bury, joined John Askey’s new look Silkmen side in the summer and has made a good impression in the team already.
His tremendous strike against Stourbridge in the FA Cup was voted ‘goal of the month’ for October by Silkmen fans, and the 20-year-old has spoken to www.mtfc.co.uk about his loan spell so far.
“I’m enjoying my time at Macclesfield,” said Burgess.
“Obviously being top of the table and fighting for promotion is a good thing to be doing, so I’m enjoying it and hopefully we can keep it going.
“It’s a tough league and it’s a physical league, I’m learning each day in training and I keep learning more with each game I play and adapting to how team’s play, so this loan spell has been good for me.”
Burgess has asserted himself into John Askey’s starting eleven in the past few games and assisted Ryan Lloyd’s incredible goal away at Maidenhead. He also spoke with his thoughts on the Maidenhead game and re-acquiring his spot on the team-sheet.
“I think we played well and we deserved to win, we had a few chances and on another day we’d have scored them.
“It’s disappointing to concede in the manner we did, but it’s a point away from home so we’ll take it.
“I’ve worked hard to get back into the team again and I’m enjoying my football so hopefully I can keep my place in the team and keep the results coming.
“We’ve got a lot of good players in the squad, so it’s all about working hard in the team and keeping my place.”
