After an impressive performance that ultimately ended in an unfortunate 1-1 draw against Maidenhead, Ryan Lloyd - the goalscorer in that game with a stunning striker from the halfway line - is looking ahead to this Saturday’s visit to Hartlepool United.
Lloyd is enjoying a good run of form in the Silkmen side at the minute and has now turned his attenton to Saturday's game in the North East.
Lloyd spoke to SilkmenTV about what he expects from the game as well as the Silkmen’s confident mindset going into games this season.
After a 1-1 draw in the early part of the season, Lloyd is expecting a difficult game from the side in 13th place in the National League table.
“It will be a tough game, they are a big physical side. They were when we played them at home and we will expect the same. Again, we have just got to compete and hopefully take our chances, because I am sure we will create them.”
The Silkmen will go into the game in a positive mindset though, just one point off the top of the table, and pushing for promotion with their possession-based style which has impressed so far this season.
“With the way we play, we are generally on top in most games. We will have a five or ten-minute spell where we are under a bit of pressure but Keith Lowe and George Pilkington are solid, all of the defence are. Teams are not really causing us many problems so we just need to put our chances away.”
