New signing Shamir Mullings says he is excited to get going following the completion of his two-month loan from Forest Green Rovers.
The 24-year-old says he has been waiting some time to get back out on the pitch regularly, having earned promotion with Rovers last season.
Speaking in his first interview with the Silkmen, Mullings said: “It’s been a while I’ve been waiting to play some games, but I’m here now and ready to get started and ready to kick on.
“Macclesfield are a good footballing team so I know I’ll get lots of chances, and it’s just about me putting them in the back of the net.”
Mullings witnessed his parent club defeat the Silkmen 1-0 last weekend in the FA Cup first round, but he was impressed by the performance of his new side.
“Macclesfield did really well against Forest Green and created a lot of good chances, but it wasn’t to be. We’ve got the league to focus on now. It’s a good dressing room. I’ve met some of the boys already and the rest of the staff and I’m ready to get started.”
