Shamir Mullings says he is hoping to help Macclesfield achieve as much success as possible during his initial two-month loan spell with the Silkmen.
Mullings arrives at the Moss Rose with plenty to play for, having been on the sidelines for some time after earning promotion with Forest Green last season.
Speaking after confirmation of his move, he said: “Of course if I can achieve successive promotions it would be lovely! My ultimate aim is to play as many games as I can, score as many goals as I can, and just help the team as best I can. I’ll give my all and that’s all I can do.”
On the expectations of the manager, Mullings said Askey has just asked that he try hard to express himself and play his best football.
“He just said be myself,” he said. “I’m going to get opportunities and it’s time to start playing games. If I do well it helps the team so he’s just told me to do as well as I can.”
To fans that may not be familiar with his style, Mullings described himself as a “quick, strong, powerful, and hard-working centre forward who likes to get on the end of crosses and put himself about.”
