Mitch Hancox is confident that Macclesfield can continue their winning ways when they host Aldershot Town at Moss Rose on Saturday.
The versatile Hancox, who has been used in a number of positions already this season, completed 90 minutes last weekend as his side came away from their long away trip to Torquay with all three points.
Bringing the winning feeling home from Plainmoor was the perfect way to round off a great personal week for Hancox. The former Birmingham City man had earlier been nominated for the ‘Rising Star’ at the annual North-West Football Awards.
For now, though, his attention remains on football matters and told Silkmen TV that Aldershot will be a good test for the team.
“It was great result last week. We needed a reaction after the Maidstone game and I thought we delivered that. Obviously, now we go into tomorrow, which will be a tough game against Aldershot, but I’m confident that we’ll get the points.
“All games are tough, but when you’re going against a team that narrowly missed out in the play-offs last year, you know they’ve got quality.
“It’s all about going into the game tomorrow, getting our plans right, and coming away with all three points. That’s all that matters.”
Hancox also went on to say that winning at home is something that everyone is aiming to do.
“We’ve been a bit up and down at home this season, similar to last season, so, hopefully, we can find some consistency. If we do, I’m confident we can go into the game and get it.
“Competition for places is big this season and that’s important for everyone. The lads know that they have to perform well to stay in the team, so it’s up to the lads with the shirts to go out there, perform and pick up the win."
