Saturday sees the Silkmen return to the Moss Rose looking to bounce back after a difficult visit to Fylde last weekend. The fixture will see the top National League side face the bottom, and ahead of the game we have taken a look at some previous encounters between the two clubs.

Torquay United 0-1 Macclesfield Town 23rd September 2017

A solitary goal from Scott Wilson earned the Silkmen all three points in the most recent encounter between the two sides earlier on in the season. Torquay faced a tough start to the season, and the loss to Macclesfield Town here left them still searching for their first league victory of the campaign. Wilson got the crucial goal in the 49th minute in a game of few chances for either side.

Macclesfield Town 2-0 Torquay United 6th August 2016

Two stunning goals, one from Ollie Norburn on his debut for the Silkmen as well as a fierce strike in off the bar from Chris Holroyd secured all three points for Macclesfield Town at the Moss Rose getting the season off to an impressive start for the home side.

Macclesfield Town 1-2 Torquay United 1st March 2016

1022 fans looked on at the Moss Rose as Torquay registered an away victory over the Silkmen in the first game of March 2016. Kristian Dennis got the goal for Macclesfield, but a brace by current Macc forward Nathan Blissett was enough to secure the Gulls the three points.

Macclesfield 3-3 Torquay - Saturday November 23rd November 2002.

This thrilling game saw Macc come back from three goals down to secure a draw with Torquay. Goals from David Graham, Jason Folwer and David Woozley fired the visitors 3-0 ahead after just ten minutes but goals from David Eaton, Steve Macauley and Kyle Lightbourne earned the Silkmen a point. 

Macclesfield 2-1 Torquay - Saturday August 9th 1997

The Silkmen started their first ever season in the Football League with a 2-1 win over Torquay back in 1997. Efe Sodje opened the scoring after just seven minutes before Andy Gurney levelled for Torquay. But this was to be a a day to remember as Richard Landon grabbed the winner on 59 minutes.
