After a Cheshire Derby victory in front of almost 3,000 fans at the Moss Rose on Easter Monday, attention turns to the trip away to Ebbsfleet at the weekend. Here’s a look back at some recent fixtures between the two sides.

In the most recent meeting between the two sides Macclesfield came out on top in front of their home crowd at the Moss Rose. Mitch Hancox got the only goal of the game just before half-time linking up with Danny Whitaker and Scott Wilson. In heavy rain Macclesfield hung onto the three points leaving them top of the table.
Ebbsfleet 0-4 Macclesfield 1st February 2013
The last visit of the Silkmen to Stonebridge Road was a successful one, bringing three points and a clean sheet back to Macclesfield. The Fleet had not won a game since 17th November 2012, and Keiran Murtagh started the rout early scoring a 25-yard free-kick. Waide Fairhurst doubled the Silkmen’s lead, before Jack Mackreth added a third and then a fourth with a low finish from 12 yards.

The first ever meeting between the two sides ended with an Ebbsfleet win at the Moss Rose stadium. The Fleet came from behind to get the three points after Chris Holroyd opened the scoring for the Silkmen on the stroke of half-time. Phil Walsh equalised for the away side in the 57th minute, before late heart break for the Silkmen as Ebbsfleet were awarded a penalty in the 86th minute which Nathan Elder coolly slotted home.
