Macclesfield Town continue their pre-season schedule tomorrow as they make the short journey to Stockport County. Let’s take a look at the game in a bit more detail.
Steve Watson has revealed one or two players suffered knocks in the midweek win over Bury and could be missing from the Silkmen side tomorrow. However he did deliver some good news with George Pilkington likely to feature for the first time during pre-season. Elsewhere John Askey could look at a number of trialists once again.
Stockport rotated their squad for their last pre-season game at Ashton but are expected to name a full strength side tomorrow with former Macclesfield defender Dan Cowan likely to feature.
One To Watch - Stephen O’Halloran
Former Ireland international O’Halloran is in his second spell with the club following two seasons at Salford City. He rejoined the Hatters in May 2017. Stephen can play at left-back or centre half and has gained vast experience during a career that has included spells at Aston Villa, Wycombe Wanderers, Coventry, Carlisle United and Nuneaton.
Last Time Out
The two sides last met in a pre-season friendly at the Moss Rose in the summer of 2016 and it was John Askey’s men who ran out with a 2-0 victory. Chris Holroyd glanced in a cross from Jack Mackreth early on, before a stunning solo goal from Danny Rowe sealed the victory shortly after half-time.
