The Silkmen face an away trip to Solihull this Saturday afternoon, as they look to bounce back from defeat to Woking.
Jared Hodgkiss is the Silkmen’s main absentee. After Adam Yates returned to Port Vale after his loan spell, John Askey has a decision to make at right-back. Ryan Lloyd and George Pilkington are also doubts as they recover from injury.
Solihull Moors will be full of confidence after their first win of the season against Chester, but will be without Zain Westbrooke after he was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Wayde Joyce. It’s likely manager Liam McDonald will field an unchanged team apart from this suspension.
Last time out
The last time we faced Saturday’s opponents was a 1-3 defeat for the Silkmen at the Moss Rose stadium last April. Moors went into the game looking to retain their National League status and took a big step towards that with three late goals that cancelled out Chris Holroyd’s opener.
The last time we faced Solihull away, was an exciting 2-3 victory for the Silkmen with Ollie Norburn grabbing a late winner.
One to Watch: Oladapo Afolayan
The 20-year-old Afolayan is an exciting prospect after joining Solihull Moors following a spell at Chelsea’s Academy. Liam McDonald signed the forward when he was spotted at Loughborough University in the second half of last season. He is a tricky, pacy forward – a real nightmare for defenders, and earned his side a penalty in their recent game against Halifax Town. Plenty of Football League teams were interested in Afolayan but he has chosen to continue his development at Solihull.
