Match Preview: Macclesfield vs Aldershot

Macclesfield Town
Posted:Fri 29 Sep 2017

Following on from our 1-0 win at Torquay United last weekend, Macclesfield Town return to the Moss Rose tomorrow knowing a victory could see them climb to the top of the National League.

Team News

John Askey’s side looks very competitive heading into the game, as for the first time this season he expects to have a full squad at his disposal.

After featuring in a behind closed doors friendly in midweek last week, George Pilkington returned to the first team alongside long-term absentee Jared Hodgkiss.

The visitors are expected to field their best side, with no known injuries. Jake Gallagher, Jim Kellermann, and Cheye Alexander will all have a little extra to play for following their recent call up to the England C team.

Last Time Out

It was a bad day at the office for Macclesfield last time they faced the Shots at the Moss Rose, as the home side slipped to a 2-0 defeat.

Aldershot’s win saw them move into the play-off places, a status they maintained until the end of the season.

Goals from Benyu and McClure gave the visitors their third successive victory at the time, and chances for Kingsley James and Rhys Browne unfortunately weren’t close enough to salvage anything for the Silkmen.
