The BT Sport cameras are in town this Saturday, as the Silkmen prepare to face Wrexham in a top of the table clash at Moss Rose. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the match.
John Askey has almost a fully fit side to chose from coming into the game. Ex-Wrexham player Elliot Durrell will miss the match with suspension as he’s picked up five yellow cards this season and Josh Thompson misses out with injury.
The visitors will have to do without centre-half Olly Marx, as he picked up an injury whilst on loan with Rushall Olympic.
Last Time Out:
Macclesfield fans will have fond memories of the last meeting between the two sides. A stunning debut goal from Noe Babe, on the opening day of this season, meant Macc took all three points from the Racecourse Ground.
The last time the two sides met at Moss Rose was also a pleasant one for Macc. Two goals from Danny Whitaker and one from Paul Lewis helped the Silkmen to an impressive victory in September 2016.
One To Watch: Chris Holroyd
A name that will need no introduction to Macclesfield fans, Chris Holroyd has been Wrexham’s main man up top this season.
Partnered by Burnley loanee Ntumba Massanka, the ex-Macclesfield marksman has scored 7 goals so far this season, after leaving Cheshire for North Wales.
Holroyd has had two spells at Macclesfield in his career, making over 100 appearances for the Silkmen.
