Last time out - Tranmere 0-1 Macclesfield – 18.3.17
A man who could be lining up for the opposition this evening, Ollie Norburn, was the difference as Macclesfield Town progressed into the FA Trophy final.
After a 1-1 draw between the two sides at Moss Rose in the first leg, nerves were visibly high and both teams entered the halftime break with the score still poised at 0-0. The deadlock, however, was eventually broken when the midfielder brilliantly beat Steve McNulty to a long ball and smashed the ball home past Rovers keeper Liam Davies.
The visitors then kept the expectant hosts at bay before the long-awaited final whistle signaled a Wembley appearance for Macclesfield.
One to watch: James Norwood
A forward with a more than respectable goal record, Norwood has already netted six times in the National League this season.
He joined Rovers from Forest Green Rovers in the summer of 2015 and, from then on, has been an ever-present in a side that reached the playoff final last season.
He is averaging a goal every three games so far in the 2017/18 season and the Macclesfield defenders will be more than wary of the threat he may cause.
