John Askey’s table-topping Silkmen side face a trip away to Ebbsfleet this Saturday, shown live on BT Sport, as Macclesfield will look to build on a pivotal Easter period that saw six points collected against Woking and Chester, leaving them nine points clear of nearest rivals Sutton United.
After the busy Easter period a couple of players picked up injuries and will be a doubt ahead of the trip to Ebbsfleet. Elliott Durrell (groin) and Danny Whitehead (hamstring) will face a race to be fit, while Ryan Lloyd is set to miss out with a continuing achilles injury.
Last time out
In the most recent meeting between the two sides in October 2017, Macclesfield came out on top in front of their home crowd at the Moss Rose. Mitch Hancox got the only goal of the game just before half-time linking up with Danny Whitaker and Scott Wilson. In heavy rain Macclesfield hung onto the three points leaving them top of the table.
One to watch: Danny Kedwell
Striker Danny Kedwell will be a danger for the Silkmen defence to be aware of on Saturday afternoon after already netting 14 times this season. The 34-year-old is an experienced player, spending the majority of his career in and around non-league football, but also had a four-year spell with Gillingham in League One and Two.
