The Silkmen face their second trip to the capital in three days as the table-toppers face 9th placed Dagenham & Redbridge following their 1-0 win at Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Macclesfield will go into this one with confidence after a run of six straight wins in all competitions. But they have doubts over several players in the squad. Goalkeeper Shwan Jalal still a doubt after picking up an injury in Saturday’s win. Sam Ramsbottom’s debut was impressive against the O’s and he will be prepared to step in once again. Jared Hodgkiss is also looking unlikely to feature due to an ongoing groin problem.
The home side will be without Kevin Lokko who will serve his ban after being sent off in the Daggers 1-0 loss to Wrexham last time out. Apart from Lokko, it’s likely the starting XI will be mostly unchanged, with Dagenham & Redbridge looking to close the eight-point gap between the two sides.
Last Time Out
Macclesfield Town 1-4 Dagenham & Redbridge
The last time the teams met was in April in the National League. It was a day to forget for the Silkmen with the Daggers taking all three points home with a 4-1 victory. Mitch Hancox got the opener, but a goal from Luke Guttridge and then a red card for Neill Byrne changed the game with Corey Whitely dispatching the resulting penalty. Two more goals from Jordan Maguire-Drew sealed the victory.
One to Watch: Corey Whitely
With eight goals already to his name this season, the statistics speak for themselves for Corey Whitely. The 26-year-old began his career at Tottenham Hotspur before dropping down to non-league. He joined the Daggers from Enfield Town in 2016 and the talismanic forward scored 16 goals in his maiden season with the club. His form has attracted interest from the Football League and he will be looking to give the Silkmen something to think about Tuesday evening.
