Tyrone Marsh says he is delighted to keep the momentum going as he grabbed the winning goal in Macclesfield’s 2-1 boxing day victory over Halifax.

The Silkmen came from behind to take the points, keeping them top of the table heading into a crucial match with Sutton just before the New Year.

Speaking after the game, Marsh said: “It’s great to score goals, but when it’s in a match like that – to keep us top of the league – it really does mean a lot.

“It was a hard game, and it takes a lot of energy to come from behind, but we gave our all and came back and it’s just great to get the win.

“It keeps the momentum going into the Sutton match, which is great. It’ll be a tough game but we'll be full of confidence."
