Macclesfield host Maidstone this weekend following our midweek game against AFC Fylde, with the Silkmen hoping to strengthen their good recent form.
Jared Hodgkiss, Tyrone Marsh, and Ryan Lloyd are all in contention for places after missing some minutes lately with varying knocks. George Pilkington is also available following a back injury earlier in the season. Danny Whitehead could also feature for the Silkmen.
Last Time Out:
Macclesfield came out of the previous encounter convincing winners as they dominated Maidstone from start to finish in a 3-0 victory at the Moss Rose in April last season.
Rhys Browne opened the scoring inside the first minute, and chances for Whitaker, Holroyd and McCombe went begging before the half-time whistle.
The Silkmen left it late to make it certain, with Whitaker slotting home from the penalty spot on the 86th minute before Mackreth finished the scoring two minutes from time.
One To Watch: Joe Pigott
23-year-old Joe Pigott was a handful during the two sides’ last meeting at the Moss, forcing Craig Ross into an impressive double save as the away side probed for an equaliser.
He has started this season in fine form, already leading the scoring charts for Maidstone and showing no signs of slowing down. The 6’2” Englishman has already graced eight clubs in his short career so far, scoring up and down the National League wherever he goes.
