Macclesfield Town V Bromley FC - Match Preview

Macclesfield Town
Posted:Fri 11 Aug 2017

Tomorrow will see the Silkmen host fellow National League side Bromley in their third fixture of the season. Here is everything you need to know about the game.

Team News:

John Askey continues to be without right back Jared Hodgkiss who has missed the opening two games of the season with a groin injury he sustained in training last Wednesday. Josh Thompson is also out.

The manager will also be sweating on the fitness of Tuesday nights injured duo George Pilkington and Elliot Durrell, who were both forced to leave the field during the 1-1 draw with Hartlepool United.

Bromley, on the road for the second time this week, look set to name the same side that beat Dover Athletic on Tuesday night.

Last Time Out:

The last meeting between the two clubs was back in December -  a festive fixture for the spectators at Moss Rose just eight days before Christmas.

It was the away side that would taste victory - Tobi Sho-Silva began the scoring that afternoon - pouncing on a scuffed shot from Blair Turgott to fire home from close range. An equaliser 6 minutes from the end by Paul Lewis looked to have secured a point for the Silkmen, but Turgott would go on to find the winner just one minute later and secure a 2-1 win for his side.

One To Watch – Brett Williams:

Joining the club after scoring 11 goals in a struggling Torquay United side last season, Williams has, so far, represented 14 clubs in his 11-year playing career.

Plucked by Reading for £50,000 in 2011, Williams would go on to enjoy loan spells at Northampton Town, Rotherham United and Woking before leaving The Royals and joining nearby Aldershot Town in the summer of 2013.

He would go on to net 24 times in the National League in the 2013/14 season – before joining Stevenage twelve months later.

He has also had a spell with Forest Green Rovers before joining Torquay in 2016.
