Macclesfield Town are pleased to announce the signing of Forest Green Rovers striker Shamir Mullings. The 24-year-old has signed an initial two-month loan deal with the Silkmen and will be eligible to make his Macclesfield debut at Barrow on Saturday.
Mullings is an athletic forward who was highly coveted before joining Forest Green in November 2016 from Chelmsford City.
He began his career as a 16-year-old with Southend United, signing his first professional contract with the club in 2012-13 season, during which time he also spent time on loan at Thurrock, Tilbury and Harlow Town.
He moved permanently to Bromley, then in the Conference South, for the 2013-14 season but the 19-year-old struggled to nail down a starting berth and went on loan to Thamesmead during the second half of the season, before signing for Havant and Waterlooville in August 2014.
Mullings signed for Chelmsford in the summer of 2016 after leaving Havant where he had contributed 15 goals over two campaigns before they were relegated from the National League South.
In his brief spell with Chelmsford Mullings scored 14 times and provided five assists in 22 appearances to quickly attract interest before signing for FGR.
Since arriving at the New Lawn Mullings has found his chances in the team limited and he will now link up with John Askey’s men in a bid for regular football.
Shamir will be with the Silkmen until January 6th and you’ll be able to see an exclusive interview with our new signing later this week.
