Macclesfield Town have today completed the club’s fourth new addition of the summer with the signing of highly-rated young forward Ben Stephens.
The 20-year-old joins the club on a two-year deal after an outstanding season with Southern Premier Division side Stratford Town and can play in either an attacking midfield role or as a striker. He becomes manager Mark Yates’ second signing at the club joining centre half Jamie Grimes.
Last season, 25 goals in 42 starts saw Stephens sweep the board at the end of year awards night as he won the Players’ Player of the Year award, Manager’s Player of the Year award and Supporter’s Player of the Year as well as finishing as the club’s top scorer.
Stephens was a schoolboy in Leicester City’s academy and also represented Kettering Town before he joined Stratford.
The 5ft 8in forward also recently had trials with a number of Championship clubs as well as participating in the Jamie Vardy’s V9 academy earlier this month.
Welcome to Moss Rose Ben!
