Silkmen defender Keith Lowe says the is looking to take some positive momentum from the club’s final pre-season test against Blackpool into the start of the National League season.
Macclesfield have had an impressive pre-season campaign so far, and face one final test in the Seasiders before kicking off their 2017/18 National League campaign away to Wrexham on August 5th.
Speaking ahead of the final pre-season game at the Moss Rose, Lowe said: “We’re really looking forward to it. It’s been a good pre-season so far and we want to take that energy into the last game, and hopefully take that momentum into the season.
“On the whole the lads have really come together through pre-season, especially considering a lot of us didn’t know each other to begin with! The lads really knitted together and that’ll stand us in good stead.
“We’re all getting on great and it’s showing on the pitch too. It’s a very good sign. It’s a tough game we’ve got but it’s the kind you like to play, against so called better players and better teams. It’ll be a tough one but a good one to play in!
“Tuesday was a great result but it gives us a lot of confidence going into this game, and that’s key. Fitness is looking great – the lads look fit and sharp and ready to go. It’s been a tough pre-season, but a good one and an enjoyable one. We’re all looking forward to getting started!”
