Macclesfield defender Keith Lowe says he is happy with the way the squad performed following victory over Barrow.

The win ended Macc’s run of three successive defeats, and ensured they remain only a point behind league leaders Dover.

Speaking after the game, Lowe said: “It was a great victory. Hard fought, a very tough game, really physical. I thought the goals were great and we’ve kept a clean sheet, so it’s perfect.

“The second balls as just as important to win as the first. The lads all got around each other well and we earned a good win. We dealt with the long ball threat well.

“We knew we were going to come up against long balls so we knew how important it was to keep the ball on the deck and move it quickly, and I think the first goal showed how well we did that.”

On the turn of form, he added: “It’s just what we needed to turn things around. Three defeats on the bounce wasn’t great – despite playing well in the games – but it’s a great result to get us back on track.”
