Macclesfield kept up their unbeaten start to the season on Saturday with a 0-0 draw with Bromley at Moss Rose.
John Askey made two changes to his side on the afternoon, bringing in Gime Toure and Koby Arthur and both threatened the Bromley back line throughout the game.
Midfielder Arthur took some time to talk to mtfc.co.uk after the game.
He said: “To be honest, we should’ve won the game. I myself missed a chance I should’ve put in the back of the net but that’s part of the game. We did well, we kept the ball well but we did what the coach told us to do but that’s football, you win some, you lose some but onto the next game.”
Next up for the Silkmen is a trip to Sutton to face the side who surprised so many in last season’s FA Cup, and Arthur says that the team need to continue to work hard to get something from the game.
“We’ve got to do the same thing, keep our shape and work hard for each other so we need to go to Sutton and work hard but it’s up to us to do the right thing and see what happens.
“We’ve got a good squad and good strength depth and if you don’t play well there’s someone in your position looking to take your place. The coach always speaks to us about working hard and as a team. You have to be a team player.
“It’s still early days and anything can happen so we’ve got to maintain our performance we’ve done well keeping a clean sheet and we’ve won one and drawn two so let’s keep going."
