Keith Lowe became the latest player to join John Askey’s new look Macclesfield side, and the defender has admitted that it was a “no brainer” to join the Silkmen squad.
The 31-year-old was allowed to leave previous club Kidderminster, after they just missed out on promotion to the National League last season.
Speaking to mtfc.co.uk Lowe said: “I was told I could find a new club and after speaking to the gaffer, it was a no brainer for me to come in, get signed and get it all done.”
The Wolves academy graduate has Championship experience on his CV and has played over 400 games during his career. However, now Lowe is determined to prove himself again at National League level.
“It’s nice to go up a division, I’ll always back myself to do that and it’ll be nice to really get going and prove myself again. The manager said he’s happy for me to come in and fight for a place in the team, hopefully I can do that and put in some good performances.”
He added “I’ve managed to rack up a few games in my career so hopefully I can bring that experience to the group. I’m here to win games of football and do well for the club, put my performances in and help people perform as well.”
