John Askey insists it’s all about keeping the run going as his side look to build on their run of eight wins in their last 10 games in all competitions.

Five wins in a row – including four in the league – has seen Askey’s side move top of the National League table. They also booked their place in the first round of the FA Cup with a 5-0 victory over Stourbridge on Saturday, setting up an away tie with Forest Green on November 4th.

They will return to league action when they travel to 17th place Leyton Orient on Saturday knowing that a win will retain their place at the league’s summit. Adding to that, a victory will also maintain the momentum, they have been building in recent weeks. Something that Askey admits is important to continue.

He said: “That’s what we’re trying to do (keep the run going). It’s the best run we’ve had for years, so we don’t want that type of form to stop. Hopefully we’ll got to Leyton Orient, perform well, and come away with all three points.

“The win on Saturday, obviously, keeps the run going and the level of confidence high. It’s just about keeping it going.

“The competition for places we’ve got now is good and the ones that came in Saturday did their cases no harm at all. They all did well, but all the others have been doing really well as well, so, it’s a nice position to be in for a manager.”
