John Askey says he is extremely satisfied with his transfer business after securing the signing of Danny Whitehead on loan for the rest of the season.
Whitehead, 23, re-joined the club from Wigan Athletic until the end of the 2017/18 season yesterday and Askey believes it will be a big boost for his side.
He is, of course, no stranger to Macclesfield Town after enjoying two loan spells already at the club.
Manager, Askey, told Silkmen TV that he is hoping the midfielder can reproduce the form he showed in his last spell.
“We’ve managed to get Danny from Wigan,” he said, “It works in well because we know what Danny can do and hopefully he can do what he's done for us before in this spell.
"There is a decent squad there and, obviously, there's competition for places which is created through winning games. Long may that continue.
"We're always on the lookout for better players and if we can improve on what we've already got, we will do.
Aside from the signing of Whitehead, Askey will also be looking for a goalkeeper after Billy O'Brien left the club this week.
Askey says his departure was a shock, but he'll step-up the recruitment drive in that area.
"Billy left the club this week. It's come as a shock, but I think he's leaving with the idea of another career in mind.
"I think it's something he's had on his mind for a while, so, we'll be on the lookout for another goalkeeper.
"We all wish him all the best for the future."
