John Askey reserved praise for the performances of Koby Arthur and Gime Toure, who made their first starts for The Silkmen in the fixture against Bromley at Moss Rose on Saturday.
Askey was speaking post-match - shortly after seeing his side share the spoils with their London based opponents.
The game, which ended in a draw between the two sides, meant that Macclesfield extended their early season run to three games and remained unbeaten in the league.
The manager admitted to Silkmen TV that he was impressed with what the two players had to offer.
“Yeah, I thought they did well,” Askey said.
“Sometimes they can flatter to deceive a bit and they don’t always find the end product, but for their first game I think they were really good for us.
“I said before the game that players in their positions need to either be creating or scoring goals to have an impact. Obviously, that hasn’t happened today, but it’s their first game and that’s something that I’m fully expecting from them in the games to come.”
“The signs are good and hopefully they can start having that sort of impact and we can start turning draws into wins.”
