John Askey says that he may continue to rotate his squad when his side travel to Gateshead on Saturday.
Ahead of their fifth game in 14 days, the manager spoke exclusively to mtfc.co.uk and told us that rotation may be the key to keeping his players fresh.
Tuesday’s trip to Sutton saw four changes from the side that lined up to face Bromley the previous Saturday and Askey revealed that he thinks changes may be needed ahead of the long trip to the Gateshead International Stadium.
The manager said: “Obviously, we’ve played four games and we continue to look at it. We’re continuing to look at the players in training and see who we think is best suited to the next game.
“Adam (Yates) had only played four games in the space of a year prior to Sutton so four games in the space of 10 days was probably too much for him at that time.
“It's similar with Danny (Whitaker), we’re trying to protect him and all the lads needed a game.
“I feel that all the lads we’ve got won’t weaken the team so it’s important that we’ve got fresh legs in there ready to come in.
“It’s a good position for us to be in. I just hope that whoever we choose to pick on Saturday can go out there and get the points for us.”
