John Askey’s Silkmen side suffered a setback on Saturday, losing 3-1 at Moss Rose to Woking despite dominating proceedings.

However, now attentions will turn to Saturday’s challenge away at Solihull Moors and bouncing back to victory.

Injuries have recently blighted the Silkmen squad but now players are starting to return to the fray. Jared Hodgkiss, Josh Thompson and George Pilkington are all nearing a return for Macc and could feature at Damson Park.

Although, on loan right back Adam Yates played his final game for Macclesfield on Saturday and has returned to Port Vale.

Manager John Askey spoke to mtfc.co.uk after the Woking game about the squad situation.

“Hopefully we’ll get one or two players back for the Solihull game.” Said Askey.

“Right back is the one position we don’t have cover now Adam has gone so we’ll just have to see what happens with the players coming back from injury.”
