Scott Wilson was recently named September’s National League Player of the month. The forward who netted four goals in five starts, helped the Silkmen rise up the league and into the play-off places.
It’s been a successful start at the Moss Rose for Scott. In August the Macclesfield fans voted Scott’s strike against Sutton as ‘Goal of the month’ and he is currently the Silkmen’s top goal-scorer.
John Askey made Wilson one of his first signings of the summer as the striker left Eastleigh in the summer and he spoke to mtfc.co.uk about Scott’s award.
He said: “I’m really pleased for Scot. At the start of the season he wasn’t playing regularly but he’s come in and played well because not only has he contributed with goals, he’s made one or two as well.
“In your squad you want competition, obviously Scott’s in the starting eleven and he’s got the shirt and he wants to keep it. If everyone has that attitude then we won’t go far wrong.”
