John Askey and his Macclesfield side are looking to continue their good run of form by beating Bromley at Moss Rose on Saturday.

The Silkmen have started the new season well and hope to make it three games unbeaten, after they previously defeated Wrexham on the opening day, and won a point against recently relegated Hartlepool on Tuesday night.

Before the game on Saturday, John Askey spoke to mtfc.co.uk about the challenge ahead.

“They’ve done really well. They ended the season in good form and they’re carrying that form on now so it’ll be a tough game, as they all are in this league, but if we can carry on doing what we’ve been doing, working as hard, and creating the chances we’ve been creating, we’ve got a good chance.”

John Askey’s new look Silkmen side have started the season well but has stressed how important it is for his team to win their home games. However, Bromley have also rebuilt a team this summer and Saturday will prove to be an interesting contest with both sides starting the 2017/18 season well.

“They’ve recruited well and they’ve recruited players that have done well at this level. It will be tough because they’re a well organised side, but if we’ve got to do anything we’ve got to be winning our home games.”
