We continue to review our fantastic title winning season in the National League with an alternative look at each month of the season in numbers.

Despite a 4-1 win to start the month, the Silkmen drew two and lost two in the four following games in January. 

So here’s all the facts and figures for January.

4 – Macc celebrated New Year’s Day in style as Scott Wilson and a Mitch Hancox hat-trick helped the Silkmen score four against FC Halifax Town.

5 – The number of points Macc picked up during January.

27 – The number of minutes between Hancox’s first and third goal against the Shaymen.

72 – With less than 20 minutes remaining after Danny Whitehead’s 72nd minute opener, there was hope of three points to round off January. But Torquay United had other ideas, scoring a reply just seven minutes later.

5 – The number of matches the Silkmen played over January.

6 – AFC Flyde put six past John Askey’s table toppers, condemning Macc to their worst defeat of the season.

11 – The number of matches Macc went unbeaten in the league until their visit to the Coasters.

2 – Macclesfield travelled to Halifax twice in the first nine days of January, first for a league fixture, followed by the FA Trophy first round.

358 – The Silkmen team and faithful travelled approximately 358 miles during January for three away games, two against FC Halifax and one against AFC Flyde.

66 – Nathan Blissett made his first appearance for Macc in the 66th minute against AFC Flyde, five days after a loan deal was reached with his parent club Plymouth Argyle.
