Jalal On Home Advantage

Macclesfield Town

Shwan Jalal says he is hoping the team can take advantage of their home advantage as they face Wrexham this weekend in a clash with potential title implications.

The Silkmen sit one point behind the Dragons – who are top of the league – and victory for Macclesfield would send them back to the top of the table, at least until later that afternoon.

Jalal said: “It’s all about continuing our run. Hartlepool was a massive result for us. 1-0 down with ten minutes to go and pulling it back brought a bit more self-belief into the players.

"Wrexham will bring a large number of fans so it is important that our supporters turn out and we make the most of our home advantage.

“We’re in good spirits but we’re keeping our feet on the ground and we know that Wrexham will be difficult opposition and we’ve got to be ready for that.”

On his personal form, Jalal added: “I’m enjoying my form – I have done since I’ve come back. There’s a couple of mistakes that I’m annoyed about but I’d like to think I’ve chipped in with a few decent saves to make up for it. Personally, I’m just enjoying playing my football week in, week out.

“I don’t want to make too big a deal of my clean sheets, it’s a team effort. I want to continue going about my business and hopefully enjoy the clean sheets when we’re in the play-offs or top of the league come the end of the season!”
