David Fitzpatrick says the squad is feeling fully confident ahead of Tuesday evening’s clash with Tranmere Rovers.
Macclesfield still sit only one point off the top of the league following the draw with Boreham Wood, and though manager John Askey is keeping feet on the ground, Fitz says this is another opportunity to take the home advantage and return to the top of the league.
Tranmere are one of the most frequently faced sides in recent years for Macc, with there always being the promise of a competitive game – something David says he relishes.
“There’s a few familiar faces,” he joked. “Over the last few years we’ve had some really great games with Tranmere – obviously the cup game last year – in the league we’ve played them and had some very good games.
“The games are very enjoyable because of how competitive it is and how great the crowd turnout always is. It’s just good to play in.
“We’ve played them over Christmas the last couple of years so this will be a bit different! The fans have got behind us so well recently and they’ve done really well for us. Hopefully this will be another game we can do well for them.”
